Course Overview
Sensorial is the second of four major avenues in Montessori’s plan for young children. Based on the need to touch, see, smell and hear, the Sensorial avenue offers materials for children to systematically explore the environment through all the senses.
We will examine the materials as well as probe deeply into Montessori’s teaching that though sensory experiences the child actually constructs the intellect. This is an idea first suggested by Aristotle more than 2,000 years ago: “Nothing is in the intellect that was not first in the senses."
Enjoy this 4-week course and deepen your understanding of this very essential avenue.
