Elementary Montessori Training

During this course you will delve deeply into the philosophy and psychology of Montessori education for the elementary child. Children in this age group have moved from the absorbent mind to the reasoning mind, and the Montessori elementary curriculum focused on capturing their imagination and building a genuine interest in learning!

The online course begins with what Montessori considered to be most important factor of all--the spiritual preparation of the teacher. We will proceed into a study of the stages or planes of development as Maria Montessori and other great theorists defined them, and how this understanding impacts our teaching. We also delve into the importance of the imagination and humor in the classroom.

Maria Montessori gave us a unifying theme of the cosmic plan for the elementary years, and we will explore what it is and how to make it practical in your classroom. We investigate the prepared environment, observation and assessment, your unique state and school requirements and systems of record keeping.
