Mirroring home and school – a talk for parents
This presentation gives an overview of Montessori for the parents to give them insight into what responsibilities their children have at school. It also gives them a brief understanding of the planes of development and the Montesori Method. Mirroring the home and school environments help the children navigate and become accustomed to their responsibilities and strengthens their understanding of how to be successful.
Executive Functioning (EC and EL)
In this presentation, we hope to deepen your understanding of executive function by defining it and exploring its key components. We will discuss, reflect on, and make connections to our own development so that we can more effectively support the children as they grow these skills and recognize individual differences. We will also look at practical, Montessori-aligned accommodations we can offer to children who need support in developing their executive functioning.
Integration of Art in the Elementary Curriculum

This session focuses on the Montessori approach to social skills, grace and courtesy, and “going out” experiences, highlighting their essential role in children’s personal and social development. History – ELI
Our study of history is done through the lens of gratitude and curiosity for those who came before us and for those who meet their needs in different ways from us. In this presentation we will dive into the important aspects of the history curriculum, how it appeals to the elementary mind, and how we can introduce topics with stories and imagination.
Tips and Tricks for Successful Lessons
Giving a lesson is an artform and requires practice, consideration, mystery, and wonder! We will discuss the important aspects of how to give lessons, from start to finish and how our own attitudes and style plays into striking the child’s imagination and cultivating interest.
Experiments are more than just scientific activities; they are gateways to enhancing children's abilities across the curriculum. In this presentation we will discuss the child’s journey of discovery and exploration in the Montessori classroom, where experiments serve as catalysts for igniting curiosity and helping to develop a lifelong love of learning. We will explore how experiments inspire children to delve deeper into various subject areas, cultivate resilience, and develop an appreciation for the wonders of the world. We'll explore the practical aspects of establishing this in your classroom, experience the experiments together and discuss the importance and purpose of children independently exploring these activities.
Utilizing Outdoor Spaces as an Extension of your Montessori Classroom
Thinking outside the box and looking at ways learning can extend beyond the classroom. Botany

Peer Mediation – ELII
This presentation explores student-led peer mediation as a natural extension of Montessori peace education in the elementary classroom. Attendees will learn how to support children in resolving conflict with empathy, accountability, and independence through a structured, respectful process. The session includes practical strategies, developmental considerations, and hands-on practice using a child-friendly mediation script. The purpose of this presentation is to help Elementary guides begin developing peer mediators in their classrooms to create opportunities for leadership and independence through student-led conflict resolution.
In cosmic education we show the children the whole of the universe and break it down into parts so they can navigate their place. We also weave important lessons such as the COSMIC COILS (cosmic task, obedience, intelligence, love, significance of humans) into our daily practice. This presentation will ignite your imagination and wonder and further define COILS in order to facilitate understanding and how to bring it into the children’s daily practice. We will also discuss how storytelling is an essential aspect of the cosmic plan.
Practical Life (EC and EL)
This presentation examines the continued importance of Practical Life work in the Montessori elementary classroom and its role in fostering independence, responsibility, and purposeful engagement. It explores how real-life activities support concentration, coordination, social development, and executive functioning while helping children connect their work to meaningful contributions within the classroom community. The session highlights age-appropriate practical life extensions that meet the developmental needs of elementary students and support the growth of confident, capable learners.
This presentation explores how mindfulness practices can be meaningfully integrated into the Montessori elementary classroom. It highlights the role of meditation, breathing exercises, and positive affirmations in supporting students’ emotional regulation, focus, self-awareness, and overall well-being. Intervention Games & Activities for Beginning and Struggling Readers

Randall will demonstrate supplemental intervention games and activities that
give beginning and struggling readers a concrete understanding of the
alphabetic principle and launch them into strong alphabet knowledge, confident
decoding, and proficient word identification.
Special emphasis will be given to
the role phonemic awareness plays in letter recognition, word building,
decoding, and writing activities. These intervention games & activities
align with the Science of Reading and with the principles of the Montessori
Method.

The EC prepared environment is an important aspect of the Montessori triad. We look at the roles of each --the environment, guide, and child in a thriving classroom. We explore beyond the physical aspects (nuts and bolts) of the environment, to include the unseen aspects -- the emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of the environment.
Introduction to the Math Avenue
This session provides an overview of the math avenue, examining the content areas of the avenue and highlighting lessons within each of these areas. We examine the development of the mathematical mind in relation to human tendencies and the sensitive periods as well as some of the skills developed from the other avenues to help prepare the child for Math work.

Developing Oral Language and Comprehension
This session examines the components and goals of oral language and comprehension in the Montessori Language Avenue. We examine some of the lessons for oral language and learn how to develop your own lessons centered on read aloud to meet oral comprehension goals. Many read aloud lesson examples are provided.
